About Model
The 1st International Model OIC – EURASIA is a unique international simulation version of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) designed for students studying in universities of the mandated geography of the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF – ERC). In thematic and practical perspective being an important youth gathering, the 4-days event will be held in Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan (RF).

Model OIC is an academic simulation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that aims to educate participants on current trends in theory and practice of international relations from the perspective of the OIC Member States, to promote OIC as a leading international organization providing knowledge to the participants about OIC itself and its current agenda, to organize trainings and seminars for the Model OIC participants on effective communication and multilateral diplomacy skills. Model OIC programme is mandated activity of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) approved by the relevant OIC Council of Foreign Ministers and relevant ministerial conferences decisions.
Event objectives
The 1 st International Youth Model OIC – EURASIA is an academic simulation of the OIC,
which is aimed at educating participants about current trends in theory and practice of
international relations, effective communication and multilateral diplomacy. The main objectives of the Model are:
To raise popularity and awareness on the OIC and to increase visibility of the OIC as an important international platform among the university students
To increase confidence and leadership skills of the Model participants
To enhance participants' knowledge and skills particularly on current trends of international relations, important issues in the current agenda of the OIC, multilateral diplomacy, critical
thinking, problem solving and public speaking
To provide a platform for future diplomats and policy makers from the region and the Republic
of Tatarstan (RF) to meet together as well as to make new connections
Model in Kazan
The Republic of Tatarstan is an advanced and economically successful region of Russia.
Kazan is the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, third capital of Russia; it is one of the largest economic, scientific and cultural centres in the country. Kazan is located in the European part of Russia, 820 kilometres east of Moscow, on the left bank of the Volga River at the confluence of the Kazanka River with the Volga. About 1,2 million people – from more than 100 nationalities – live in Kazan in an atmosphere of cultural, religious, and linguistic diversity. The city celebrated its 1,000th anniversary in 2005.

According to the agenda and programme of the event two of total four workings days of the Model will be dedicated to academic seminars and trainings on the "Rules of Procedure" and the last two days will be dedicated to simulation sessions. During the simulation sessions the Model participants will take part respectively as the delegation of the "Represented State", defined among the OIC Member States. The simulative "resolutions" will be discussed and voted based on researches and investigations by the participants related with international relations issues as well as foreign policy priorities and interests of the concerned member state.
Organizational issues
Flight: ICYF – ERC will bear costs of international travels /flights for selected international participants in amount of maximum 500 USD for each participant. Those willing to cover their flight costs themselves should indicate it in their relevant application form which may positively affect their probability of selection as the contingency for travel grants is strictly limited
Food, accommodation, transfer from airport are covered by the organizers.
Visa: After confirming your participation, the organizers will contact you, help with visa issues. Visa application fees are to be borne by the participant.

Who can participate
The Model OIC – EURASIA will bring together over 100 participants aged 18-30. Participants will be selected from the applicants representing the universities from the following countries and regions:
- Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan;
- Eastern European countries;
- Non-OIC Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS);
- Russia.
